Oh, we do love our beams around here. Except when they have dry rot. The house is currently sporting a very glamorous black trash bag cover over one of the beams out front. Wish us luck.
In the meantime, I’ve been pinning fantasizing about putting a hanging chair in our atrium, suspended from one of the beams of course. I can dream, right?

I recently noticed your hanging chair pins! Sooo dreamy. I think one BELONGS at your home.
First I need to convince myself that it won’t bring down the whole house when I sit in the chair, hung as it would be from one of the central beams. Our beams really worry me these days. Sometimes I wonder if the house is held together by paint. 😉
A hanging chair would be sooooo much fun. Holding on to my dream for now!
